The brain of the Tigers, Koji Chikamoto

This March Koji Chikamoto published a book titled “I Live Between Black and White.” (Boku wa siroto kurono hazamade ikiteiru)

After reading it, my first impression was this: his ability to put thoughts into words might be the best in Japan’s professional baseball.

Since he joined the team in 2019, the Hanshin Tigers have consistently finished in the top tier, including two championships. This book seems to contain the reasons why.

His disciplined approach to what he calls a “framework for thinking” is not just about winning games. It feels like a way for anyone to live more authentically as themselves.
